We have School Leaver Employment Supports at Hands on People

Hands on People have just launched our School Leaver Employment Supports….. Your what??? You might be thinking..

School Leaver Employment Supports are there to help you in transitioning from school to work. It’s a big step for any young person, and if you have a disability this time can be daunting. Maybe, you’re not sure what to do next or where to start?

Through our School Leaver Employment Supports we will work with you to define your interests and develop some goals, then we will create a support plan tailored – just for you. Whether, it’s transport training, reading help or learning how to knead dough…

With your goals foremost in our mind, we will set up a range of supports to help you towards achieving your ambitions.

Available to school leaver’s through your NDIS Plan, your funding will be a under a line item for ‘Finding and Keeping a Job – School Leaver Employment Supports”.

Our supports are being coordinated by Melanie Gandharba who is very excited to get started.

Our SLES Coordinator Melanie

Melanie came to us from a background in administration, but has been working in disability for the past 4 years, before that, she was with a Job Active provider in Queensland. Most recently she worked as the Employee Services Coordinator at Helping People Achieve, where she project managed their Finding & Keeping a Job, trial work program. After a few short months or R & R, Melanie is excited to get back to work.

When I asked Melanie what she loves about her work, she said “I love the attitude and energy we (as service providers) get from so many of our participants, it makes every day at work a good one”.
