We believe your supports should fit you

We help you to experience noticeable improvements in your daily living. You’ll have access to developmental programs to increase your skill levels, as well as the therapeutic supports you require, such as occupational therapy, physiotherapy and psychology. 

You’ll expand your social and community participation and enjoy recreational activities and peer support. Other programs will also be available to you such as vacation care, weekend programs, group fitness programs, flexible respite, centre-based respite, active ageing and more.

All of these activities and programs can open your mind to your own potential, and help you on the path to more independent living.

The team at Hands On People supports you in your activities of daily living (ADL) in many ways by providing you with a wide range of services. You may not need all services, but it’s great to know what’s available.

We can also help you with transportation. We own a range of cars and wheelchair-accessible buses to help you get to your appointments and activities. If you want to come to our inclusion centre, we’ll pick you up and take you back home when your program is finished.

We started Hands On People because we believed we could do better for Territorians with a physical, intellectual or psychosocial disability. We could see how challenging it was for people just like you to get the right advice and support to make the most of the NDIS. It should be easy to access the help you need so you can live an independent and meaningful life. 

Our team have worked in health and disability services for more than 10 years and know exactly how the NDIS works. It might seem confusing and scary, but we’re experienced in navigating the system and linking up participants with the right supports. We don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We work closely with you to develop your capacity to achieve your goals and be an active part of your community.

Frequently Asked Questions

The NDIS is the National Disability Insurance Scheme. It’s how people under the age of 65 who have a disability can get the care and supports they need.

The NDIS is for those with a permanent and significant disability which impacts on their ability to take part in everyday activities.

If you’re eligible, you will work out the reasonable and necessary supports you need to live your life and achieve your goals. You’ll then receive funding to pay for these supports.
